A day with a Creative Content Agency
A typical day in a creative content agency or video production company is anything but routine. It changes depending on the scope of work at that time and could involve working on the creative for a job, liaising with a new client, casting talent or producing an edit. No two days are the same for a producer but here is an example of what a day (not shooting) might look like.
8 A.M. Arrive at Crybaby Productions in Sydney’s Surry Hills to plan the day.
9:00 A.M Most of the Crybaby Productions’ team is in the office by this time including the video production team, the creative content producer, the senior production Manager, editor and creative director. We have a quick production meeting about today’s priorities. The production team is currently managing several jobs, some in pre-production and several in post-production. Our producer sits with our in-house editor and briefs them on the deliverables for a Witchery campaign we have just shot on location overseas.
10:00 A.M A major Australian beauty brand come into the office to meet with Crybaby’s creative director to talk through a potential brand campaign opportunity.
11:00 A.M Today the digital contentl team is producing eight separate packages to be delivered to our clients by next week. This involves going through hours and hours of raw footage from the shoot and pulling out the suitable shots for each deliverable/edit. This process is laborious, but, not difficult as we storyboard everything in pre-production so it’s more about finding those shots and the best takes to illustrate that moment.
12:00 P.M Our creative director and senior production manager have a pre-produciton meeting via Skype with a Japanese Beauty Brand. They detail and sign off the creative and make sure everything is moving according to schedule.
1:00 P.M Castings are continuing throughout the day. Actors and models are screened by our team with stills and video taken to present to the client.
3:00 PM The production team re-work some storyboards based on client feedback and then send these back for approval.
4:00 P.M One of our freelance video producer comes in to confirm a storyboard which is being filmed first week of February, everything needs to be finalised well in advanced before shoot day.
5:00 P.M The production team get equipment, storyboards and creative and sound gear all ready for a small shoot tomorrow. They leave early for the day in prep for the 5.30am call time in Palm Beach in Sydney.
